About Me.

IMG_20211105_091056_406.jpg

Hi there! So glad you've found me! I'm Alex, a multi-disciplinary designer/maker.

I specialise in the large and the colourful. My portfolio is very varied, from museum installations to full scale town build entirely from paper! I mostly work in Spacial Design; from designer for theatre, to picture-boards for photo opportunities and large scale props for events and businesses.

In a nutshell, if you have an idea for a mural, a prop, a sign or need a designer, get in touch and lets have a chat!

I have a degree in Theatre, Performance and Events Design (BA) hons at Birmingham City University and have practiced art and design for over 10 years. Through my education I have gathered a lot of different interests, which is why refer to myself as multi-disciplinary. I believe the world of design is changed and the lines between disciplines are dissolving; we must able to adapt to different areas rather than defining and specialising.

Since graduating I have enjoyed a series of incredible projects, working for museums, theatres and small businesses. However over the last two years I have been the full time Artist in Residence and Events Designer for Wonderland Telford; a local fairy tale themed outdoor amusement park based in Telford, Shropshire. The job has taught me so much and push my creativity to the next level, i have lots of new skills, particularly in restoration and the repair of fibreglass props, and outdoor paintwork.

As the world opens back up I am now returning to freelance, to explore new parts of this varied disciplined and grow my collection of works even larger.

Personal Life.

I currently reside in Telford, Shropshire with my fiancé in our colourful little house . I am very proud of my county and I am constantly influenced by vibrant surroundings, the mixture of a growing young and modern Town, a long history of industry and science, and the beautiful natural surroundings of the Shropshire hills and countryside.

I have transport and I'm willing to travel across the country for work; being based in Shropshire makes it ideal to commute to anywhere in the UK
